The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 it will be a hard day 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
