The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O thou enveloped! 1 arise and give warning! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 thy robes purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And children present [with him] 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
