The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
