By no means! By the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 Warn the men. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
