Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
