Nay, by the Moon 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About the guilty: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
