Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
