Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
