▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 about the sinners. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
