Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who will be in Paradise 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
