NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
