By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
