Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
