Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
