Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
