The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when their brother Noah said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 106 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 107 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 108 I ask no payment from you for my preaching. The Lord of the Universe will give me my reward. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?" 111 Noah said: "What knowledge do I have about their deeds? 112 "Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand. 113 I do not drive away the believers. 114 “I am not but clearly a Herald of Warning.” 115 They said, “O Nooh, if you do not desist you will surely be stoned.” 116 Noah said, "My Lord, my people have rejected me, 117 "Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me." 118 So We saved him, and those who were with him in the laden ark, 119 then afterwards We drowned the rest. 120 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 121 And thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 122
