Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
