Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
