The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
