Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
