Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
