Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
