Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
