The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
