Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
