Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
