Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
