Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
