Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
