Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
