Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
