Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
