Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
