Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
