And those who disbelieve say: when we have become dust, we and our fathers, shall we, for sooth, be brought forth? 67 Assuredly we have been promised this aforetime, we and our fathers. Naught is this but fables of the ancients. 68 Say: "Go all over the earth and behold what happened in the end to those [who were thus] lost in sin!" 69 And grieve thou not over them nor be straitened because of that which they plot. 70 And they say: when will this Promise be fufilled if ye say sooth? 71 Say: 'It may be that riding behind you already is some part of that you seek to hasten on. 72 "Verily, your Lord is full of Grace for mankind, yet most of them do not give thanks." 73 And indeed your Lord knows what is hidden in their bosoms, and what they disclose. 74 And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register. 75 Indeed this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance. 76 And most surely it is a guidance and a mercy for the believers. 77 Surely your Lord in His wisdom will decide between them. He is all-mighty and all-knowing. 78 Hence, place thy trust in God [alone] - for, behold, that in which thou believest is truth self-evident. 79 Truly thou canst not cause the dead to listen, nor canst thou cause the deaf to hear the call, (especially) when they turn back in retreat. 80 nor can you direct the blind to the Right Way, preventing them from falling into error. You can make only those who believe in Our verses to hear the call and then submit. 81 ۞ When the Word falls on them, We shall bring forth for them out of the earth a beast that shall speak unto them: 'Mankind had no faith in Our signs.' 82
