Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
