The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or orders piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
