Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
