Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
