The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 [Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth, We have prepared chains, iron collars and a blazing fire, but 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, 11 And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. 21 This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. 22
