The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 Surely We guided him upon the way whether he be thankful or unthankful. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 From a spring of which the votaries of God will drink and make it flow in abundance. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22
