The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 We have indeed kept prepared chains, and shackles and a blazing fire for the disbelievers. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 From a spring of which the votaries of God will drink and make it flow in abundance. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 They say to them, “We give you food, only for the sake of Allah – we do not seek any reward or thanks from you.” 9 Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, 15 (Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds). 16 And therein they shall be given to drink a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
