Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 and the severally severing 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till an appointed term, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
