Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
