Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
