Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
