Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
