Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
