And indeed We sent Nooh towards his people – he therefore said, “O my people! Worship Allah, you do not have any other God except Him; so do you not fear?” 23 So the disbelieving chieftains of his people said, “He is just a human like you, he wishes to become your leader; and had Allah willed, He would have sent down angels; We did not hear this in the case of our forefathers.” 24 He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while. 25 [Nuh (Noah)] said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 26 So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation, and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into the ship from each [creature] two mates and your family, except those for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned. 27 When you and those with you have boarded the ark, say: 'All praise be to God who has delivered us from the people who were sinful.' 28 And say: My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing-place, for Thou art Best of all who bring to land. 29 Indeed in that are signs, and indeed, We are ever testing [Our servants]. 30 Then, after them, We created another generation. 31 and We sent amongst them a Messenger of themselves, saying, 'Serve God! You have no god other than He. Will you not be godfearing?' 32
