Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
